The tribute piece for the 2009 Make Cancer History Gala Ball’s theme, Casablanca, is a fantastic 60x40 abstract rendition from Winnipeg artist Lawrence Rich. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Lawrence Rich has seen his career move through more graphic based commercial projects to large scale fine art. His unique approach to a wide variety of styles and subject matter has led to an increasing demand for his work on both a local and national level. Currently he is exploring themes relating to jazz music, expressive semi abstract landscape, and his ever-evolving contemporary abstract.

Inuit Art Piece: Muskox

An incredible opportunity to acquire a distinct and original Inuit carving! This stunning piece ‘Muskox’ was created by Matto Moonie Michael from the community of Kimmirut, NU. ‘the muskox is a depiction of a mother protecting a young and vulnerable baby muskox from the threatening elements of the North.’ Matto Michael’s work is distinctive with a personal treatment of his subjects.
